Professional tennis and pickleball court resurfacing, protective coatings, and new court construction throughout the Monterey Bay Area. We keep courts safe, durable, and looking their best.
Legacy Painting and Renovating provides professional tennis and pickleball court coating and resurfacing services for residential and commercial properties across the Monterey Peninsula. Whether your court needs a fresh topcoat to restore traction and appearance, full resurfacing to correct cracks and surface irregularities, or you want a brand-new court built on a concrete slab, our team handles the job with the same attention to prep work and product selection that defines all of our floor coating work.
We serve courts in Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel, Carmel Valley, Seaside, Marina, Salinas, and surrounding areas.
Our court coating services cover every stage from surface repair through final line marking. All work is performed by our licensed team using professional-grade acrylic court systems.
Worn, faded, or cracked court surfaces are ground smooth, filled, and recoated with a new acrylic surfacing system. Restores traction, color uniformity, and performance to an existing concrete or asphalt base.
Multi-coat acrylic finish applied over a prepared surface with court lines accurately marked for singles, doubles, and service boxes. Color selection available to match HOA requirements or personal preference.
We can build new tennis or pickleball courts on an existing concrete slab. Includes surface preparation, color coating system, and full line marking. Pickleball striping added to existing tennis courts is also available.
Ernesto and Geobany Castellanos founded Legacy with 20+ years of combined experience on the Central Coast. CSLB licensed #1066829. We know how coastal conditions affect surfaces and what it takes to make a coating hold.
We use commercial acrylic court coating systems matched to your court's base material, condition, and intended use.
You know exactly what product is going down, what surface prep is required, and what to expect at each stage. No surprise line items.
We do not close out a job until the surface passes our inspection and you are satisfied with the result. A freshly coated court is a long-term investment.
Every court project follows the same disciplined preparation sequence. Proper prep is what separates a coating that holds for years from one that peels or cracks within a season.
We inspect the existing court surface for cracks, delamination, drainage issues, and coating condition to determine the right scope of work and product specification.
Surface cracks are cleaned out and filled with an elastomeric crack filler designed for court surfaces. Larger structural issues are addressed before any coating is applied.
The court is pressure-washed to remove dirt, algae, and loose coating. Worn areas are sanded smooth so the new coating bonds uniformly across the entire surface.
Where the surface is rough or uneven, an acrylic resurfacer layer is applied to restore a consistent, smooth base. This step is skipped on courts in good structural condition.
Two to three coats of acrylic color coating are applied to achieve full coverage, consistent color, and the desired texture and traction level for the playing surface.
Court lines are measured and marked precisely for the intended sport. Tennis, pickleball, or combined-use striping is available. Lines are painted in a contrasting color and sealed.
Professional surface prep and acrylic resurfacing. A court that looks and plays like new.

Every court we coat or resurface starts with a thorough surface assessment. The right prep work (crack repair, pressure washing, leveling) is what determines how long a new coating holds and how consistently it performs season after season.

A standard resurfacing project on an existing court typically takes 3 to 5 days, including surface prep, crack fill, acrylic coats, and line marking. Cure time between coats and weather conditions can affect the exact timeline. New court construction on an existing concrete slab takes longer depending on scope. We give you a realistic schedule before work begins.
We use professional acrylic court coating systems designed specifically for sport surfaces. These are water-based, UV-stable coatings that provide the right combination of traction, color consistency, and durability for outdoor use. The number of coats and the texture level are selected based on the surface condition and the playing level the court needs to support.
Yes. We can install a new tennis or pickleball court on an existing concrete slab. The slab must be structurally sound, properly sloped for drainage, and in good condition before we apply the surface system. If your slab needs repairs first, we assess that during the initial consultation. We also add pickleball striping to existing tennis courts.
A professionally applied acrylic court coating on a properly prepared surface typically lasts 5 to 8 years before it needs resurfacing, depending on use level, sun exposure, and drainage conditions. Coastal environments with UV exposure and occasional moisture can accelerate wear. Regular cleaning and prompt attention to any new cracks extend the coating life significantly.
Yes. Adding pickleball lines to an existing tennis court is one of the most common requests we get. We can add a standard 20×44 pickleball court layout to your existing tennis court surface, either in the same color as the existing lines or in a contrasting color to keep the two court systems visually distinct. The lines are painted and sealed as part of the job.
